Swedish Avy-Tmpl transforms apartment living whilst boosting profits for property owners

Avy-Tmpl is a Tenant Experience Platform and App where property owners can provide a simpler and more modern service to residents while at the same time creating a foundation for new significant revenue. The solution has a reach of over 250,000 households across private and public housing clients and is set to expand further in the Nordics.

Due to the launch in Denmark Q2 2022 with existing client SBS Norden, Avy-Tmpl joined PropTech Denmark to accelerate growth in the Danish market and gain the insight and knowledge needed to support the journey.

A missed business opportunity for the majority of residential real estate players

The real estate business is lucrative, and the traditional business model has seen a growing property valuation propelled by low-interest rates and steady rent increases. However, a big business opportunity has continuously been overlooked: A million tenants that live in these buildings – the customers. A good understanding and tenant insight clarify that there is both a need and a willingness to pay for a more comprehensive service, just like that extra service that is so naturally integrated and paid for, at the plane, hotel, bank, or in the store.

With a maturing Tenant Experience market even in the residential sector, move-in services like electricity, insurance, and clever storage are just some of the services that convert at a rate as high as 100% around many Swedish housing companies through the Avy-Tmpl platform and App. This generates significant new annual revenue streams to landlords while improving the overall housing experience and life quality.

The trust and the basics to successfully introduce new service

From the customer perspective, the housing journey consists of various elements, many of which could be improved. It is not about internal processes for the management of the company itself, nor about smart buildings from an optimization point of view. It is simply about that comprehensive service that makes life convenient, easy, and safe from moving-in to moving-out. Among Avy-Tmpl’s customers, a good foundational service like having a smooth payment, issue reporting, or information and communication option has proven essential for building the relationship needed for the landlord to be seen as a trustworthy provider of other services too.

With these services in place, a natural next step is everything that makes the housing journey even better, transforming apartment living from pure brick and mortar to the convenient experience it can be. More than 88% of all tenants download the Avy-Tmpl app during move-in. Overall average user engagement is 73%, with seven logins per month where between 55-70% of all users pay through the app. The average conversion of move-in services is at 37%, with a best-case of 100% of tenants buying at least one service.
